Finance Director
Richard joined Jennings & Barrett in 1999. Richard, an experienced property manager and lettings manager, became part of J&B's directorship in 2011.
After four years as a Director, Richard and his wife, Joanna, made the jump to buy Jennings & Barrett. Under their guidance, the business' turnover has grown over 320% in under 10 years.
As Finance Director, Richard is responsible for the financial planning, management and strategy of J&B, and remains a source of expertise and advice for staff on all sides of the business.
Richard is passionate about creating opportunity, supporting local communities, and ensuring that clients get value for money. As an employer, he is keen to hire local and give younger community members the chance to develop key professional skills, follow clear career paths, and gain professional qualifications.
As members of the BNI Network, Richard and Joanna have been instrumental in building Jennings & Barrett's strong contractor network, and the business generates over £6m per annum in referrals to local businesses – benefiting clients by ensuring that trustworthy, skilled contractors are always on hand to solve any property issue that arises.
Richard is also a keen patron for local charities and causes, regularly joining and sponsoring charity activities for organisations such as Bexley Snap, Bexley Moorings, and Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, as well as local schools. As a member of his local (and London) Rotary Club, he shares their mission to change lives, promote integrity, and make a difference in J&B's communities – he donates time to Young Enterprise, a charity that provides entrepreneurial and financial education to young people.
