Jennings and Barrett has been a feature in my life from my childhood, with my Mum, Christine Bould, being employed to look after some of the blocks and estates that we still manage today, 40 years later. After beginning my career in finance, I left the banking Industry to join Jennings and Barrett in 1999, initially as Finance Manager and supporting the owner John Shine in all areas of the business. Whilst keeping the client accounts in order, I also undertook a number of different roles, including ensuring our compliance with relevant and changing legislation. I also saw the potential for developing the lettings side of the business, increasing the number of property portfolios that we manage, growing the Block and Estate Management through Right to Manage and supporting a growing number of buy to let landlords. I am proud to have grown the business through our existing client base, referrals and recommendations. I also opened our Sales and Lettings office with a dedicated estate and lettings team in Sidcup in 2012.
As a local employer, I believe we should be investing in our young people and providing local opportunities for school and college leavers to begin and develop their careers. In 2013 I introduced our apprentices scheme and am very proud of the young apprentices who have spent time with us, some of whom have moved on to develop their careers and some I am pleased that have stayed with us to take full time roles. A highlight was winning a Best of Bexley Business Award 2014 for Best Employer of Apprentices.
In 2015 Joanna Bould and I were lucky enough to have the opportunity to purchase the business and we have made significant investments in qualified and experienced staff and up to the minute software to ensure we continue to offer excellent services moving forward.

I am a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, qualifying in 1991 and becoming a fellow of RICS in 1983. I was the previous owner of Jennings and Barrett, taking over in 1996. I am retained by Jennings and Barrett as their in-house surveyor carrying out valuation and general building survey work and providing expert property related advice for the benefit of our commercial and residential clients.
As a local RICS surveyor, I am proud that one of my career highlights includes being employed as the employers representative for a number of local new build community centres.
Estate and Lettings Manager
I have worked in the property sector for seven years, having started my career in Fulham at one of Central London’s Premier Estate Agents, so having extensive experience managing complex sales of high end properties through to completion.
After relocating to South East London, I joined Jennings and Barrett in February 2015 to head up the sales and lettings team. As a local independent and professional estate and lettings agent, we have seen fantastic growth over the last two years, beating our targets across both sales and lettings sectors. I am excited to be planning to open our third office in 2017.

Block and Estate Manager and Office Manager
I have worked in the property sector for many years, having started my career working for British Rail Property Division.
I have worked with Estate agents and Solicitors providing me with good background knowledge across all fields. Geographically, I have worked in Essex, North Kent and South East London and have good knowledge of these areas.
I moved over to Block and Estate Management 13 years ago when I started working with one of the country’s largest Property Management Companies based in London, gaining extensive experience managing both mixed use high end developments and purpose build flats as well as conversions.
I joined Jennings and Barrett in November 2015 as head of Block and Estate Management and also took on the role of Office Manager. Since joining we have taken on a number of additional blocks and I am excited that we are currently upgrading our Block Management software package to ensure we are efficiently delivering a high quality service.
Along with Jodie, who began her career with Jennings and Barrett as an apprentice in 2013 and has now graduated to Block and Estate’s accounts assistant, we have two new team members, Gillian and Justina, who between them have 8 years block and estate management experience.

Prior to taking an active day to day role in Jennings and Barrett, I have been a director of the company from April 2015. My previous experience of technical sales and business development within the construction industry has been a useful preparation for my role, both for back office operations and client facing functions.
I have been responsible for pre contract management from concept through to contract agreement for complex communal and district heating schemes. Most recently I have been managing the pre contract activities to enable us to secure multi million pound facades projects as a specialist subcontractor to top 100 main contractors. This required co ordination of in house design, estimators and operations teams with architects and client design teams, project management and quantity surveyors.
I am excited to be taking a hands on role at Jennings and Barrett where I will be responsible for improving our back office systems and expanding our client base.
